AFTER COMPLAINTS by residents of his constituency over poor bus service, MP for St Lucy Denis Kellman has called for the creation of a bus hub in the north.
He said this would replace Bridgetown as the port of call for many commuters.
Speaking at a Democratic Labour Party (DLP) branch meeting in Pie Corner, Kellman listened and responded to his constituents who vented their frustration over the lack of a steady bus service.
“One of the issues is that I don’t like to see buses travelling from Town and going through Free Hill [Black Rock] and all of those short distances,” one upset resident said during the meeting. “And have minibuses travelling all through Town, when the further-out parishes are suffering for buses. All through Deacons Road and all those places are getting Transport Board buses.” (AD)
