A BARBADOS SELECT Select XI amassed 290 for eight from their 50 overs against a West Indies XI at Kensington Oval today in preparation for the upcoming Tri-Series against Australia and South Africa.
Enterprising knocks from Shai Hope (61) and Omar Phillips (58) led the Barbados Select XI to the challenging total in the day/night match.
Hope, the top scorer, struck seven fours off 79 balls while opener Phillips struck seven fours and two sixes from 66 balls.
Useful contributions also came from Shamarh Brooks (44), Kevin Stoute (29) and Kyle Mayers (29) who boosted the scoring-rate in the closing overs.
Barbadian Ashley Nurse grabbed three for 61 and Trinidadian Shannon Gabriel took two for 70 for the Windies XI. (AH)
