Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley made the point on the sidelines of the 2016 Crop Over Thanksgiving Service held at Sharon Moravian Church in St Thomas yesterday.
He lauded those who came forward to assist in the mega cavalcade held recently at Briar Hall in Christ Church and pleaded for even more to become involved.
That cavalcade, according to Lashley, was possible through total voluntarism by the artistes and those who freely provided the equipment.
Such events, the minister said, though considered costly, were the ultimate start-up for the Crop Over season. (MR)
