BARBADIANS managed to dig deep and come up with $440 956.41 for the people of The Bahamas last night.

It was all part of the Rise Again Bahamas mediathon staged at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation’s Pine, St Michael offices, in an effort to raise funds after Category 5 Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc in Grand Bahama and Abaco eight days ago.

Entertainers across the length and breadth of Barbados gave of their time by performing during the almost eight-hour event, as they too encouraged everyone to donate.

At the end of the telethon, Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Public Affairs, Senator Lucille Moe, urged Barbadians to continue donating as the online platform would remain open for another 48 hours, while accounts at FirstCaribbean International Bank would be open until weekend.
