WHO IS IT really calling the shots on the hill in the Pine and in the process creating a real big headache for the Pouting Princess?
This is the question which has been raised following what was termed the unusual process taken and road travelled during a recent shut-off by the green team.
Word is that a moutta-giant from the north, who is president of this and president of that, and with a very strong allegiance to the Grand Old Party, had laid down the gauntlet to Miss Harmony Hall. This boisterous chap apparently had threatened to lead his team from being in solidarity with the princess and her kingdom, but would encourage them to go to the court of Horatio near the Garrison.
The Pouting Princess cannot afford to lose any more servants from her realm since it would put too great a strain on keeping the household going. Hence the need to get all within her empire to come out in their battle gear all prepared for a war some said was not worth fighting.
The feeling is that the Pouting Princess may have to bring back out the troops because the bread which many were looking to get and already describing as extra large sandwich and jumbo heavy sweets, is now looking doubtful and if any comes it may be more like dinner rolls and cake by the slice. Not even water will be needed to clear dry throats.
Walking the walk
TWO PEOPLE HAVE been doing a lot of walking recently in parts of the east as if they’re preparing to be active sportspeople once again. One could once be found jumping around and up and down with a ball on the court but now assists in giving directions, while the other likes to have a bat in hand even when he is out promoting distilled beverages not native to Bim. It is obvious that they feel that a man in the east and known for tasting of all kinds of beverages, local and imported, should no longer be in any exalted position.
So now that Professor Tall Boy is no longer desirous of fighting any battle south of the lighthouse, these two wannabes have decided it’s time to be part of the woman in white’s train.
What will be interesting is who will be out in support of whom. Some people have been asking whether a former educator who once sat in a specially designed chair will be using his special charm to make an appeal on behalf of the former ball thrower or whether the army of brothers and friends from the far east will be working to ensure the man with the bat gets the nod.
What is certain is that a former brand name law and order enforcer has been covering a lot of ground, day and night, rain or sunshine, well protected by his track suit, in an effort to provide whatever support he can to one of the twosome. This disaffected former member of the wild boys club had himself once carried the torch south of St Martin, but has learned that once is simply enough. So now he’s prepared to do the groundwork even as the two prepare to face off before the queen and her swarm in the apiary.
Call of confusion
THE WESTMINSTER SYSTEM can be so confusing there is little wonder it is so distorted outside of the motherland. So, when the adjutant responsible for unity in the local army stated that one should not attack defenceless soldiers while on duty, even though some may be truly avoiding holding down the fort, the call left many puzzled. The bewilderment is over what happens when the soldiers flout the system.
Such is the case of a young officer who serves both as a lieutenant in Horatio’s battalion and in the Army of Occupation. He has been brazenly fraternising with the woman in white for all the generals, colonels and even the ordinary ranks to see. He was even seen at the side of Dr Dotlittle over the weekend celebrating in one big bash at the Court of Herbert.
Word on the ground is that this lieutenant plans to make a charge against the commander-in-chief of the general forces at some point and it is believe it will take place somewhere near the Garrison.
Loyalists and common folk are awaiting word on the behaviour of this devotee of dissent.
