BARBADIAN Josh Burke continues to make waves. He triumphed in the main event against some of the world’s best professional surfers at the World Surf League’s Martinique Surf Pro QS 3000 in Basse Pointe on Tuesday,
Burke, who has been having a phenomenal run, proved that he can compete at this level, winning the air show against some of the best aerialists in the world such as Charly Martin, Seth Moniz, Griffin Colapinto, Diego Mignot, Marc Lacomere and Victor Bernardo.
He also advanced to round five, taking multiple heat wins along the way and boosting his WSL statistics while raising his average wave and heat scores.
Burke is currently in the last 32 from a total of 144 competitors as wave conditions declined. The event has been put on hold, awaiting a large swell which is forecast for tomorrow and Saturday. (EZS)

Burke eliminated defending champion Josh Moniz of Hawaii in round four, taking a close second behind veteran Guadeloupe surfer Charly Martin, who also enjoyed a fantastic start to his Caribbean run.
