Pine boys are U-16 kings

PINELANDS’ FUTURE certainly looks bright.

Tournament and finals Most Valuable Player Kiserian Adams had a game-high 19 points as Future Pinelands capped their unbeaten run in the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association’s Under-16 tournament via Saturday’s 49-35 title-winning performance over YMCA Wildcats at the Wildey Gymnasium.

The showing in the final was arguably their best in the competition, providing the fitting finish for Pinelands’ run to that inaugural junior crown.

And it was Pine’s powerhouse that led the way from the opening tip, as Adams scored eight straight points to start the contest on a series of tip-ins, follows and post-ups.

Deroni Hurley was the one who initially broke the game open, having ended the first quarter with successive treys as part of a 10-0 run that offset the early work of Wildcats’ forward Alexander Odle.
