THERE WILL be competition in two separate age groups when this year’s Barbados International Masters Football Festival kicks off next month.
At a Press conference to launch the festival at Banks Breweries yesterday, chairman of the festival organising committee, Paul “Starsky” Wright, said a category has been added to attract those teams with players over 50.
“It came about because a few guys on the side in their late 50s were playing in the over-40s and they said can you imagine at the age of 58 and you’re trying to chase a 40-year-old. Did you ever try doing that? Can’t you do something about it?” said Wright. (RG)
