ST JOSEPH RESIDENTS who have been water-starved for months are getting a bit more accustomed to the dry pipes. But many are growing increasingly uncomfortable with the length of time they have been compelled to draw water from community tanks.
Tyrone Holder said he would drive to a standpipe in Station Hill or Hothersal Turning in St Michael to get water to use for his drinking and cooking purposes. The water from the tanks that were erected across the parish, he would use for other household chores such as washing.
Speaking to the DAILY NATION from Chimborazo, St Joseph, yesterday, Holder and a friend – who did not want to be identified – said there was a hole near the top of the tank and they feared insects or bugs could get in.
