BARBADOS’ WATER WOES aren’t being felt on the cricket field too much.

Not yet at least.

Many of the country’s grounds are surprisingly still holding up, even amid the Barbados Water Authority’s (BWA) recent restrictions on water use, as the clubs have mainly had to battle dry outfields ahead of next month’s start to the domestic season.

“I mean you don’t use that much water to wet pitches anyway so they shouldn’t be much of an issue, and it’s not the first time we’ve had one of these really dry periods yet cricket has always played whether the outfield is dry or not,” said former long-time Kensington Oval curator Richard “Prof” Edwards.
