BUT to settle pressing issues

Outspoken principal Jeff Broomes may be soon gone, but the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) still want issues at the Parkinson Memorial School settled sooner rather than later.

They feel the same way about the Alma Parris School as well.

President of the BUT, Pedro Shepherd, is hoping to meet with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, June Chandler, and Chief Education Officer Karen Best at some stage this month to deal with lingering issues with those two institutions.

“We received correspondence from the ministry, and we are supposed to send back a letter relating our outstanding issues still to be resolved,” Shepherd told the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday.
