Last lap for shoppers

ON SUNDAY, the car park at Massy in Warrens was busy and parking spaces were in high demand.  

Justin Bourne, who was completing his shopping there with his wife Jackie, said they had done most of their shopping but would be back to get meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables later in the week to ensure they were fresh.

The Bournes said prices this year were high, as they expected them to be, but they had budgeted for the bill and had not gone over their limit of $700.

At Carlton Supermarket in Black Rock, the activity was a bit more subdued and customer Chandra Bennett said she started her shopping last week and “was picking up things piece by piece.” Bennett, who said she was hosting family lunch at her home
