SIMEON MAYNARD came up big when it mattered most.

The tournament MVP scored a game-high 22 points as eventual champs Team L-K coasted a 46-16 championship win over NexGen “A” in yesterday’s final of the NexGen ABA Under-12 Basketball Competition at the Springer Memorial School’s hard courts.

The victory proved the cap of an unbeaten tournament run by Team L-K, who never trailed in the title game after holding their opponents to just two first-quarter points for a quick nine-point cushion.

Opposing guard Zishan Motara scored six points in the second quarter to keep NexGen “A” competitive for the remainder of the first half, but Maynard and Damani Bynoe-Forde duly put the game away on the other side of the break.
