DR MARIA AGARD may be taking the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) to court.
Queen’s Counsel Hal Gollop, who represented Agard when she appeared before the BLP’s National Council last Sunday and subsequently was expelled, hinted at this yesterday during an interview with the DAILY NATION.
“We will make a full disclosure of that shortly,” Gollop said, explaining that they were in the process of preparing files. He added that a Press conference would be held shortly.
Gollop had argued on Sunday night after he, Agard and co-counsel, Lynette Eastmond, left the disciplinary hearing before the National Council, that it had failed to follow the rules of natural justice.
Yesterday, he further knocked Opposition Leader Mia Mottley, pointing out that in her statement announcing Agard’s expulsion, she said: “After hearing the charges presented and the statements from Dr Maria Agard and her attorney at law, we have determined that she should be expelled.
“Dr Agard never made a statement at that tribunal,” Gollop charged. (MB)
