Teams book knockout spots

THE DAVID THOMPSON Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic is getting ready to head into the exciting knockout stage and already some teams have booked their spots in the next round.

Defending champions Christ Church East Central are one such team and they sit at the top of Zone One with nine points from three matches.

St Peter are currently second on six points while St Michael East are third with four points from three matches.

St Michael East will take on the champions Friday at Blenheim and need to win to take second in the group on goal difference.

Zone Two is also practically sewn up with Christ Church West, St George South and St Michael South Central all going through to the round of 16. Christ Church West lead with nine points from three matches followed by St George South and St Michael South Central who are separated by a goal difference of one.  (PG)
