Dominica can bank on Barbados.

And if Prime Minister Freundel Stuart gets his way, the storm-ravaged island can bank on the entire CARICOM as well for important financial assistance in the coming days.

Stuart, in his capacity as chairman of CARICOM, yesterday pledged the Barbados Government would provide US$100 000 “post haste” to Dominica, as recovery efforts continue since the country was devastated by Tropical Storm Erika on August 27.

The Prime Minister’s promise came moments after he toured a number of affected areas in Dominica yesterday, accompanied by the island’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, and CARICOM Secretary General Ambassador Irwin LeRocque.
