THE 17-year-old girl who fell into a well on Sunday is resting comfortably at home.

Kayla Hurley, of Collins, St Peter, fell into the sewage well just outside her home around 4:30 p.m.

She was standing on the piece of plywood which covered the well when it gave away and she plummeted about 20 feet.

Corey Scantlebury, of the same address, used a ladder and assisted her out of the well.

Police, ambulance and Fire Service officials responded to the incident.

Hurley complained of pain to her neck and upper body was taken to the Queens Elizabeth Hospital.

At her home yesterday, family members declined comment but confirmed she was recovering. (DB/PR)
