Landlord fearful

A CHRIST CHURCH landlord is living in fear.

Geoffrey Jones of Vauxhall said a favour he was doing for a friend ended up in threats to his safety after he tried to evict the tenant, known only as “Benjamin”.

“I didn’t give him a contract because I was doing him a favour and only charged him half price to begin with. I soon had problems with him keeping excessive noise and I suspect he was smoking . . . because I could smell it,” he said.

On August 16, Jones, who lives upstairs of the apartments he rents, said he asked Benjamin to vacate the premises but by the next day Benjamin told him he had yet to find a place to stay. On Tuesday night, matters escalated.
