Pipeline project under budget

THE $30 million mains laying project by the Barbados Water Authority and Ionics Freshwater Limited came in under budget.

This was revealed by Ionics director David Staples as he gave an outline of the completed project during an official handover ceremony at Birdies on the Green Restaurant, Rockley Golf Club, Rockley, Christ Church, yesterday.

Two of the three pipelines were finished ahead of schedule while the third was done on time. All three pipelines were also completed $3 million to $4 million under budget.

“In my view this project is how a PPP (public/private partnership) should operate,” Staples told the gathering, pointing out that the collaboration was a success.
