Shaft making headway this year

A PROLIFIC TRINIDADIAN songwriter has been making some significant gains from Crop Over, and this year in particular.

Jason Shaft Bishop tasted victory on local soil last year with Biggie Irie’s Pankatang and the demand for his work seemed to have skyrocketed.

Shaft wrote about 10 songs for Bajan acts this year, and six of them will be featured at Sunday’s Soca Royale at Bushy Park, St Philip.

His increased profile has raised questions in some quarters, but the artistes do not seem to mind or fear his presence.

MRBLOOD wears the hats of artiste, producer and songwriter and is a finalist in both the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch competitions and he said he had no difficulty with the volume of work Shaft has done. (YB)
