Radio operators want training too

THE BARBADOS Citizens Band Radio Association (BCBRA) feels that it is being left out in the cold by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) when it comes to training for emergencies and expected disasters.

However, Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite has appealed to DEM director Kerrie Hinds to invite the radio operators to future training sessions.

Brathwaite’s call came as BCBRA president Randy Chandler chided the emergency department for not including them in training during its 40th anniversary awards ceremony at Almond Bay, Hastings, Christ Church, on Sunday night.
