PRIME MINISTER FREUNDEL STUART has heard the “noise” all week.
But he admitted yesterday not being too worried about a threat of a national strike, more industrial action by disgruntled Customs officers, or waste haulers putting their trucks down for good. In fact, Stuart considers it “par for the course”.
“I don’t think we need to worry too much,” Stuart said during an impromptu Press conference in the middle of his visit to BMEX at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday. “Trade unions are supposed to make noise on behalf of the persons they represent. These noises have to be made.
“I am sure that all the trade unions in Barbados are committed to the best interest of Barbados. When the chips are down they will put the interest of Barbados first,” the Prime Minister added. (BA)
