Better sevice quality needed, says Inniss

MINISTER OF INDUSTRY Donville Inniss wants business support organisations and financial institutions to provide a “more effective” service to their clientele.

Addressing a Caribbean Entrepreneurs’ Conference and Expo at the Grande Salle of the Central Bank yesterday, he said there were several complaints about the quality of service being offered by such organisations.

He listed some of the challenges which his ministry had “observed” with regard to the offerings of business support services entities as poor customer relations, poor knowledge base of clientele, inadequate use of technology to disseminate information and to process applications, inadequate skill set to service clientele, insufficient financial resources, a highly bureaucratic structure and lack of clarity and cohesion on policies.
