THE CRICKET LEGENDS of Barbados Inc (CLOBI) and the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) are set to formalise a partnership to improve the state of the game.Board member Wes Hall said it would be CLOBI’s biggest undertaking.“We are looking forward to talks shortly and hope to be some help to them in the future,” he said.Hall was speaking during a church service yesterday at St Leonard’s Church in celebration of CLOBI’s fifth anniversary.“We feel we can make Cricket Legends a world-renowned brand, as well as instil in the youth the values our parents instilled in us,” he said. After the service, general manager Angela Carter gave an update of the Legends’ work.“Our marketing campaign is going well. It is the second year for the CLOBI Cup; we are working on a DVD project featuring eight of the legends’ lives before, during and after cricket, and we are marketing with the BTA promoting sports tourism,” she said.Carter said CLOBI was pushing tour packages with Virgin Atlantic where every Thursday there was a cricket speciality tour, as well as with Foster & Ince in the winter with tours of Kensington Oval and the Cricket Museum, adding CLOBI was continuing to work with the Barbados Defence Force. The DVD will feature Sir Everton Weekes, Sir Garfield Sobers, Reverend Wes Hall, Charlie Griffith, Seymour Nurse, Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes and Joel Garner.
