Tomorrow Friday, the Alexandra School will be celebrating its 116th anniversary with a Founder’s Day service at the Family Church at Battaleys, St Peter.
It will be followed by an exhibition featuring the works of former arts students in the area of interior design, jewellery, graphic art and photography at the school.
Events throughout the day will also include a tracing of the school’s uniform changes over the decades and a quiz among first formers on the history of the school.
During the week there were visits to former students and staff. One of the highlights of the week was a return by former students to give inspirational talks to the students.
Some of the speakers were Yvette Browne, retired principal of St James Secondary School; Editor-in-Chief of Nation Publishing Kaymar Jordan; Sunday Sun Editor Carol Martindale; Weekend Nation Editor Antoinette Connell; attorney Veronica MacFarlane and senior economist Claire Corbin.
