Pole danger gone

WHY DID?IT take nearly two weeks to have this pole removed?
Didn’t anyone see the danger it posed to pedestrians as its lantern leaned precariously on a building?
These are just some of the questions pedestrians are still asking after this pole, which was damaged in an accident, was allowed to remain where it stood, posing a threat to anyone who walked beneath it.
Those who regularly traversed Bridge Street and the Charles Duncan O’neale Bridge in The City repeatedly called for its removal, yet it was only yesterday the removal came.
Though a welcomed move, it still begs the question of why it took so long to have this done.
Better needs to be done in future.
