Tempers flared initially, but they subsequently cooled when the National Conservation Commission (NCC) and other officials met with beach vendors at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed yesterday.
NCC general manager Keith Neblett used the opportunity to highlight a number of concerns that had been plaguing the commission, especially in the Paynes Bay area.
Among the issues discussed were illegal vending, drug peddling, the beach chair vending policy – with a view to determining capacity on the beaches – and the disposal of garbage.
