Classes at the Alexandra School were disrupted yesterday by teachers’ industrial action, but education was not, embattled principal Jeff Broomes has contended.  
   More than 30 teachers stayed away from school as part of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union’s (BSTU) continued drive to have the Ministry of Education deal with a number of matters concerning the outspoken principal.  They attended a union meeting at its headquarters at Belleville, St Michael.
 Broomes appeared undeterred by yesterday’s actions. “There was disruption for sure, but there was also teaching and learning going on. The classes went on today because things were put in place,” the principal noted.
  According to Broomes, an alternative time-table had been formulated for yesterday in anticipation of the industrial action by the teachers.
