THE DISMISSAL of an employee after 25 years of service is another battle the Barbados Workers’ (BWU) is fighting with telecommunications company LIME.
And this one could end up before the courts, according to BWU general secretary Sir Roy Trotman.
Speaking at a meeting with unionized LIME employees at Solidarity House yesterday, he disclosed that the BWU had taken Peter Alleyne’s case to the Labour Department after the company failed to give cause for his dismissal about four months ago.
“Up to now, in spite of our requests to be able to meet with the company to be given why Peter Alleyne was dismissed, we are yet to find an answer coming from the company,” Sir Roy said.
