120 take the oath

Make the national motto of Pride and Industry your personal mantra.
That was the advice Prime Minister Freundel Stuart gave 120 new Barbadians yesterday.
It came during the first citizenship induction ceremony held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Conference Centre.
Sir Lloyd, a former Prime Minister, who is now resident ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, was present.
The new citizens, with Bibles in hand, were required to swear an oath of allegiance before Acting Governor General Elliott Belgrave. Four who opted not to swear the oath were inducted after affirming their commitment to Barbados.
