A female hawksbill which was preparing to nest on Holetown Beach, St James, was yesterday bludgeoned to death by a rock to the head.
John Walcott, who was walking the beach around 5:30 in the morning, said his initial thoughts were that the turtle had flipped. However, on closer examination he realized it was not breathing.
