All in place for opening of Parliament

The Parliament Buildings and courtyard were a hive of activity yesterday as Barbadians prepared for the official opening of Parliament today at 4 p.m.
Workers were busy putting plants in place, cleaning, doing electrical work and erecting tents for the four-hour event that follows the February 21 general election.
On hand were Clerk of Parliament Pedro Eastmond and security officials, who did a walk-through to assess progress of work and ensure everything was being put in the right place.
Eastmond urged all guests to make sure that they were in possession of their invitation tickets for presentation to security personnel prior to entry into the courtyard and to be seated by 3:30 p.m. (RL)
