One promises to meet the challenges of roads head-on, another plans to work to foster private sector involvement in reforming and sustaining the economy whilst a third says he will work to help landowners reduce the pressure on the Ministry of Housing.
Three newly appointed Government ministers voiced those aspirations yesterday as they made familiarization tours around their various ministries. From early yesterday morning, Minister of Transport and Works Michael Lashley greeted the heads of departments in his ministry at its Pine, St Michael location.
Lashley said that it was his first priority to directly take on the challenges of roads throughout Barbados, in the same way he approached housing as Minister of Housing.
Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development Donville Inniss said that he was aware that his new ministry was a challenging one but it also offered great opportunities for Barbados.
Minister of Housing, Lands and Rural Development Denis Kellman said that his first plan of action was to learn the job of the ministry.
