Family, friends bid farewell to teen

Had she not died in the tragic accident on March 17, 19-year-old Rachel Pilgrim would have been taking a driving test today.
David Gill, a friend of Pilgrim’s family and former St Michael South Central candidate for the Barbados Labour Party, revealed this yesterday. He was delivering words of remembrance on behalf of the family during a service of praise and celebration of Pilgrim’s life at the St Cyprian’s Anglican Church.
Scores of mostly young people packed the church to say a final farewell to Pilgrim, who lost her life after the accident at Harbour Road, St Michael. There was standing room only as some of the people in attendance spilled out the doorways of the church.
The tears flowed freely from family and friends of the teenager as they remembered a quiet and respectful humanitarian. Her mother wailed, crying out intermittently for Rachel during the service. (RMB)
