Police investigating incident at Sailor Gully

Police are investigating an incident which led to the injury of a 50-year-old man, which occurred on Saturday 01 June 2013, about 1.30 pm, at Sailor Gully, St. Peter.  This area was being used as a stage in the Barbados Rally.
From initial investigations, a dispute arose between the victim and a group of men at that location. He was then attacked by four men allegedly with rocks and bottles.  He received wounds to his head and left knee.  The victim was taken to the QEH for medical attention by a Red Cross Ambulance which was there on duty.
It has also been reported that during the incident a licenced firearm holder on seeing the incident, discharged his licenced firearm in an effort to end the attack.  The four men ran away.
Anyone who witnessed the attack and that would have information that can assist in this investigation is urged to call the District E Police Station at 419-1731.
