Government’s fiscal adjustment programme which Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler announced during the August 13 Budget will be implemented in full.
This assurance was given yesterday by Sinckler while delivering an address at the National Productivity Council’s one-day summit at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Acknowledging that the national deficit had increased to unsustainable levels because of the global downturn, the minister said: “There are no excuses, there will be no excuses, and there are no methods for us to escape the implementation of that programme . . . .
“The fiscal adjustment programme is in place and will be implemented in full because, frankly . . . we don’t have a choice; we have to do it and that adjustment has to be made.” (BGIS)
