BARBADIANS WILL SOON have $13 million to tap into for demand-driven training.
Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer-Suckoo said the money will be available through the Competency-based Training Fund and they are hoping to start disbursements in August. Training proposals are to be submitted between April and May.
She was speaking earlier today at the first of four sensitisation workshops for employers in various sectors at Accra Beach Hotel.
Byer-Suckoo said the difference with this type of training is that people will be asked to do needs assessments of their companies, and the industry by extension, to determine what skills are needed and training developed accordingly. (YP)
