THE HEALTHY CARIBBEAN Coalition (HCC) is partnering with cancer societies in the region to step up the fight against cervical cancer.
Having already published the Caribbean Civil Society Cervical Cancer Advocacy Handbook and Planning Tool president of the HCC Professor Sir Trevor Hassell, said they are currently doing an electronic petition to educate people in the Caribbean about cervical cancer.
He said the petition will also be seeking electronic signatures to campaign for more funds from political leaders to further support efforts around cervical cancer.
Hassell stressed that cervical cancer is “entirely preventable” and that 95 per cent of all cases can be prevented. (YB)
