TROUBLE APPEARS to be brewing at Parkinson Memorial Secondary School once again.

Sources close to the situation say the grievances, which threatened the smooth start to the beginning of the school year, resurfaced when controversial principal Jeff Broomes returned from sick leave just over a month ago.

Staff have already indicated to the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) their unwillingness to continue working with Broomes at the helm, and a meeting has been called at the union’s headquarters at 9:30 a.m. today to ventilate the issues.

BUT president Pedro Shepherd told the DAILY NATION yesterday: “There has been some rumbling at Parkinson for a while and we had sent correspondence to the Ministry of Education outlining a number of concerns.”
