World Rally Cross champion Petter Solberg will be the man to watch on the Bushy Park race circuit today when the eagerly-awaited Race of Champions comes to Barbados for the first time.

The Norwegian driver, who is eyeing a seat in the 2015 World Rally Championship, said he is looking forward to two days of competition and coming up against some of the best drivers in the world.

“I have heard a lot about Barbados, including that it is a motorsport nation, and the fans are in for a great spectacle here at Bushy Park,” he said yesterday ahead of today’s action which starts at 10 a.m.

Two prestigious titles are up for grabs over the weekend, which will feature over 60 individual duels. Drivers will pair up in teams based on country/region for the ROC Nations Cup, before all friendly cooperation goes out of the window in the Race Of Champions as they slug it out to be crowned individual “champion of champions”.
