IT’S NEVER TOO late for justice. That’s why the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) will be pressing ahead with their protest march in support of retrenched National Conservation Commission (NCC) workers on Tuesday, despite a planned meeting with Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer tomorrow.
Acting NUPW general secretary Roslyn Smith made it clear yesterday that the march, to protest the near year-long delay in getting the former workers’ case heard by the Employment Rights Tribunal, was going ahead in The City to make their point.
While preparing placards for the march at the NUPW’s Dalkeith Road, St Michael headquarters, she said Byer requested the meeting to deal with the Employment Rights Act and there was no mention of the union’s planned protest.
