Medical school eyeing Barbados

Another medical school has shown an interest in setting up in Barbados while there is also a proposal for a primary/secondary residential school to be established here.

These were disclosed yesterday at a wide-ranging news conference by Minister of Education Ronald Jones.

Speaking mainly about the unique Nigerian educational programme, where a large number of Nigerians have come here to undertake studies at the Barbados Community College (BCC), Jones said Barbados would be taking advantage of the opportunities presented by international students coming here.

“I have a meeting shortly with another institution which wants to establish educational/medical services in Barbados,” he said, while only disclosing that the officials involved were from the United States. (MB)
