DEMAND FOR BARBADOS’ luxury villa accommodation is rising, with one management company reporting a 20 per cent increase in tourist arrivals and spend.
Chairman of Terra Caribbean group of companies, Andrew Mallalieu, says there was an upsurge in demand for the more than 100 upmarket holiday homes managed by Terra subsidiary Blue Sky Luxury.
Blue Sky recently launched the Caribbean’s first villa rentals loyalty programme, called Blue, at George Washington House offering repeat guests and property owners a range of incentives and services.
Responding to a question about the performance of the villa sector afterwards, Mallalieu said: “We have seen in our own numbers in the villas, somewhere around 20 per cent increase in tourist arrivals and spend, so the villa rental market for this winter – and also looking forward into next winter at this point with the bookings that we have – is doing extremely well.”
