BARBADOS HAS RECEIVED high marks for its successful staging of the recent Davis Cup international tennis tie with the Dominican Republic.
Hosting an Americas Zone Group 1 match for the first time, at the National Tennis Centre from March 6-8, the country and The Barbados Tennis Association were praised for a “job well done” by Brian Earley, the acclaimed US Open referee.
Earley, who was doing Davis Cup duties in Barbados on behalf of the International Tennis Federation, suggested that the critical elements were managed well at the relatively small facility.
“For a small facility, it was very good. The set-up was very well done and the players enjoyed it. There were no complaints and the hospitality was great,” he said. (BB)
