BARBADOS’ EDUCATION system needs some “creative destruction” to produce better results for students, the labour market and the economy.
 
University administrator Professor Andrew Downes made the suggestion yesterday in an address to a luncheon of the Rotary Club of Barbados at Hilton Barbados.
 
He said such reform needed to include changes to the curriculum of educational institutions and a close look at the annual 11-Plus exam that governs the movement of schoolchildren
from primary to secondary schools.
