AN INCREASINGLY POPULAR class clown, a graduand bent on leaving a lasting impression on fans, and a dynamic newcomer have been included among the eight for the big showdown with defending 13-18 Junior Monarch Sammy G come July 18 at the finals.

On a night when the opportunity for fans to scream and shout were far between in that segment of the Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch Semi-finals, RJ, Ah-Dee-Lah and Raheem towered above the other contestants and undoubtedly earned their places in the finals.

Riding a wave of popularity from the first junior tent held at The Lester Vaughan School on June 13, Raheem continued in that mode on Saturday and created another stir with his Don’t Shoot Me.

The lyrics of the song grab the attention on their own, but the first-timer who has emerged as the darling of the competition is a showman and keeps people glued to his every word. Fans called for an encore, but it could not be allowed. (YB)
