The Caribbean Junior Squash Championships are currently ongoing at the Barbados Squash Club and Barbados have been doing quite well.

The island advanced to five finals while some of the more inexperienced players are holding their own in the consolation rounds.

National junior squash coach Rhett Cumberbatch told NATIONSPORTthat all this was due to a Junior Squash Academy that runs for ten weeks during the school term.

The programme costs just $70 for the ten weeks and is held on Saturdays. It has seen the rise of formidable juniors in Meagan Best, Amanda Haywood and Khamal Cumberbatch.
