BDF gives back with Sterling clean-up

MEMBERS OF THE Barbados Defence Force (BDF) are still very passionate about service to the Barbadian society.

That was the declaration of Lieutenant Shane Drakes as the BDF marked its 36th anniversary with a number of activities.

One such activity was the debushing and beautifying of the Sterling Children’s Home, St Philip.

The soldier, who is a member of the BDF’s Special Operations, said those who ran the home for wards of the state wanted a clear view from the office to the road. They also wanted to monitor the activities that were going on around the home.

Drakes told the WEEKENDNATION that BDF soldiers usually undertook maintenance work annually at the children’s home, but, this year they made it a joint effort by including members of the Coast Guard and Regiment.
