More time for land tax discount

BARBADIAN taxpayers have been given an extension to take advantage of the ten per cent discount on payment of land tax bills.

A news release from the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) yesterday advised that the “period for which landowners qualify for a ten per cent discount on the 2015-2016 land tax bills has been extended to Friday, September 4, 2015”.

It added: “In light of late receipt of some bills, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has given permission for the extension.”

However, September 25 remains the cut-off date for the five per cent tax discount.
