THERE’S NO PLACE like home, but Barbadian Ryan Brathwaite is moving his training base back to the United States in an effort to get back to world class shape.

The 2009 World 110-metre hurdles champion moved back to Barbados over a year ago but struggled badly with fitness and form this season and didn’t qualify for any of the major international championships this year.

Brathwaite was training with American coach Dennis Mitchell before deciding to come home with the hope of rediscovering the form that made him world champion in Berlin six years ago.

However, things went from bad to worse as the former Lawrence T. Gay and Lester Vaughan student was hampered by weight and injury issues that impacted on his performances.
